Calvary Chapel Bible College York (CCBCY) is:
- On the UK Government’s Sponsor’s Register
- Accredited by ASIC with premier status.
Please Note: We do not sponsor Student Visas - You can only study with us as a Student Visitor. You must leave the UK before your Student Visitor Visa expires (within 6 months)
Entry to the UK
*******Important: Student visitors should not enter the UK via the Republic of Ireland*******
The Republic of Ireland has a ‘Common Travel Area’ with the UK. This means there is no immigration presence on arrival in Manchester or London from the Republic of Ireland. As such you cannot apply for the Student Visitor Visa through this route.
If you do travel to Manchester/London through the Republic of Ireland, you will only receive a ‘tourist’ stamp in your passport upon arrival in Ireland that will be for maximum 90 days. But as a Tourist you are not permitted to study in the UK and as such CCBC York would not be able to enrol you on your course of study. In this case, you would need to leave the UK to a location outside of the Common Travel Area (Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt for example) to return to the UK and legally apply as a Student Visitor at the airport*********
You need a return plane ticket, to show UK Immigration that your stay is temporary. If you try coming to Britain on a one-way ticket, you may be refused entry and put on the first flight home.
If you have an E-Ticket, (no physical return ticket) bring your itinerary to prove your return flight.
Passports are required for all students studying in the UK. If you need to apply for a passport, please check the processing time for your country. Please note, you will be unable to travel if your passport will expire within 6 months.
Entry into the United Kingdom
IMPORTANT: Students from certain countries, e.g. USA or Canada, Israel, Australia, who wish to study with us in York will request a Student Visitor Visa at the border.
All other international students wishing to study at Calvary Chapel Bible College York must obtain a Student Visitor Visa prior to departing their country of origin.
If you are from a Visa National country, you must get leave to enter the UK before you travel. For a list of Visa National countries click HERE.
The Student Visitor Visa is a single entry visa, which is valid for up to six months. *Please note that you will be unable to work on this visa. If you leave the country to go sightseeing, you will need to request a fresh visitor stamp in your passport when you return to the UK and there is the possibility this may be refused.
Please read the guidance below and contact us if you have any questions.
